AD “NEXTRAD,” a Team of 14 Arita Ware Makers, Will Hold an Interactive Exhibition

In continuation from last year, “NEXTRAD,” a team of 14 young managers and successors of porcelain manufacturing companies in Arita, Saga Prefecture, will be holding an interactive exhibition. Running from 3 to 5 November 2022, the exhibition, entitled “Go Forward 2022 – The Future of ‘14P’ Related to Porcelain Manufacturing,” will introduce the companies’ manufacturing process.

Both the exhibition and on-going interactive events aim to promote a deeper understanding of Arita porcelain, centering around 14 keywords with the initial “P” (Porcelain / Process / Polyethism / Professionalism / Peculiarity / Planning / Prototype / Production / Pricing / Path / Promotion / Purchaser / Partnership / Passion). Visitors can converse directly with the NEXTRAD members about their manufacturing process of Arita ware and find out more about the special techniques that are unique to each company. There are also factory tours scheduled, with five companies opening up their production site which is usually closed to the public. In addition, NEXTRAD will also introduce their SDGs initiatives and conduct a kintsugi workshop. Come and find out more about the daily challenges faced by the 14 members of NEXTRAD, a team experienced in producing porcelain.
