The unparalleled vivid colors of Satsuma Kiriko faceted glasswork, which once ceased to exist amidst the upheaval at the end of the Edo period (1603 – 1868), have now been brought back to life through the skill and passion of modern craftsmen. The glass possesses a comfortable weight when you hold it in your hand, while the deep indigo color that seems to ooze out from the glass is engraved with intricate traditional patterns. Its dignified presence that shines in the light will never fade away.
